Visual Recall

A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. And studies show that laying out information visually, with an Infographic, MindMap, or SketchNote, helps boost recall by 200%+.

Visually stimulating representations of complex information engage both sides of the brain, deepening understanding by visualizing connections to everything we already know.

This ixnote screenshot contains relatively few words, but the links add context, show understanding, and recall a story from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.

The key word there is recall; if you're unfamiliar with StarWars, this MindMap-inspired visual representation won't do the story justice. MindMaps rarely contain enough information to explain a subject thoroughly.

Instead, they capture the gist, just enough to help viewers recall a story or topic they're already familiar with. You were in the meeting, took the notes, made the links, and paid attention, so this is enough to jog your memory and provide critical details you predicted you would forget.
